NT Concepts, a leading innovator of intelligence and national security solutions, sponsored Youngstown State University’s (YSU) HackYSU. The three-day event, which took place from Friday, Feb. 21, to Sunday, Feb. 23, allowed students to come together for 36 hours and develop an app, website, or pursue another creative project.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of HackYSU,” said Chris Gros, NT Concepts vice president of talent. “This annual event demonstrates our company’s commitment to giving back. It’s also a great way we can share our passion for technology innovation and STEM with students in our communities.”
NT Concepts director of software engineering Bhargavi Kodali and software developer Mikaela Goldrich, along with machine learning engineer Zach Mostowsky, mentored student participants. They assisted with their projects and helped them to transform ideas into real-world applications, in addition to judging the final student presentations.
HackYSU is a free event that is open to all YSU students. Participants from all skill levels are encouraged to participate, and no coding ability is necessary. Students have the opportunity to enhance their skills and network. They can also submit their projects for first, second, and third place, as well as category prizes.
NT Concepts sponsorship of HackYSU is part of the #NTC_GivesBack program, which empowers employees to donate their time and energy to support each other and their communities.
